0412 St. Luke's April Tornado Recovery

Volunteers from St. Luke's help with recovery efforts in the wake of the April 27, 2011 tornadoes around the state.

The service will begin with a welcome from the Rev. Richmond Webster, Saint Luke’s Rector, followed by remarks from Charles T. Moore, President and CEO of Greater Birmingham Habitat for Humanity and Drew Langloh, President and CEO of United Way of Central Alabama.

There will be a blessing of an emergency response trailer donated by Saint Luke’s. The program will close with prayers for the storm victims. During the prayers, the church bells will toll—once for each person who died as a result of the tornadoes. In addition to the speakers, other representatives will be present from Habitat, United Way, and Hands-On Birmingham.
