0713 Circus LJCC
Children participating in a circus camp at LJCC will perform later this week.
Fifty-eight children are learning how to flip and fly at camp at the Levite Jewish Community Center, and they’ll be performing their new skills later this week.
Circus of Kids is a traveling program that blends learning, character building, exercise and just plain fun to children in camps, schools, and resorts across the country, challenging children to learn and perform circus acts including trick roller skating and mini-trampoline. Participants experience a life-altering transformation–both in body and in self-confidence–as they learn to overcome fears, work as a team, and communicate effectively with others.
“It’s not just that the kids have a great time,” said Camp Director Betty Habshey on why she brought the program back to the JCC this summer. “More importantly, they challenge themselves to learn new things and expand beyond their comfort zones. It is truly an amazing week. Watching the transformation of the campers is unbelievable.”
Performances will be held Thursday, June 27 at 6:45 p.m. and Friday, June 28 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The Levite JCC is located at 3960 Montclair Road. Tickets are $13 for adults and $9 for children. To purchase tickets visit Circusofthekids.com/tickets.php.
