Election Update
On Aug. 23, Mountain Brook voters will have the chance to elect their 2016-2020 city council members and mayor. Village Living will provide weekly recaps each week leading up to the election, so you can easily keep up with everything you need to know before you vote.
There are no new council or mayoral announcements from this week, but listed below is important information:
- The Brookwood Baptist Church polling location has been moved from the church's fellowship hall to its student youth center, known as the Cape.
- Official qualifying for mayoral and council candidates begins this Tuesday, July 5 and lasts until July 19. Our Election Guide explains how to qualify as a candidate.
- Voters must register by Aug. 8 and regular absentee ballots must be applied for by Aug. 18.
- The Election Guide also contains information about how to register to vote, this year's polling locations and what to bring to the polls.
