Roxy, a tri-color miniature Yorkie, was taken during a burglary on Old Leeds Road.
A one-year-old, four-pound Yorkie named Roxy is safe at home today, according to a Facebook post by owner and Mountain Brook resident Natalie McDonald.
McDonald had offered a $1,000 reward for the dog's return after it was stolen during a burglary on Monday, Dec. 7. Electronics and jewelry were also stolen.
“Other things stolen too, but must find ROXY [sic] – has harness and collar,” McDonald posted on Facebook the day of the burglary
On Saturday, Dec. 12, McDonald posted on the What's Happening in Mountain Brook Facebook page that Roxy was returned. She said she could not give further details due to the criminal circumstances of Roxy's disappearance.
"We want to tell everyone who spent time looking for Roxy, sharing our story, and having our back through all of it thank you! We are overwhelmed with the love and support that we've received this week from the people in our community and beyond. So much of it came from people that we don't know and have never met. What started with a crime committed by one, or a few bad individuals, opened our eyes to the huge number of caring, supportive, and really good-hearted people that live all around us. We are so happy to have our little doggy back in time for Christmas," McDonald said.
