Three car break-ins were reported in Mountain Brook last week, according to the Mountain Brook Police Department community update.
One vehicle, which was in the 900 block of Sheridan Drive at the time of the incident, was entered after an unknown suspect or suspects reportedly used a gun to shoot out the car’s window. A 9 mm shell casing was found next to the vehicle, according to police, and a .45 caliber pistol was taken from the vehicle. The incident occurred on Sept. 23 around 1 a.m.
The other reported car break-ins occurred between Sept. 24 and 25 on Norman Drive. Both cars were unlocked, according to police. A wallet and credit cards were taken from one of the vehicles, and nothing was taken from the second vehicle.
