Mountain Brook Police Department reported three car break-ins in the June 9 community update.
During two of the car break-ins, windows were reportedly broken and purses were taken from the cars. One break-in occurred on June 5 in the parking lot of the Gymnastics Center at Mountain Brook High School, according to police, and the other occurred in the 2700 block of Cahaba Road.
The third car break-in reportedly occurred in the 2900 block of Fairway Drive between June 7 and June 8. The vehicle was reportedly unlocked, and sunglasses and a briefcase were taken.
Police also reported two property thefts. Between June 6 and 7, two silver pieces were reportedly stolen from the 400 block of Dexter Avenue. On June 7, a suspect reportedly received services from a business but did not pay for those services.
Graffiti was reportedly painted on a wooden fence in the 3600 block of Bethune Drive between June 2 and 6, and police reported this instance as criminal mischief.
A victim also reported she received a credit card she signed up for in the mail on June 7, but the card had already been used. Police categorized this as an instance of identity theft.
