Mountain Brook police reported two marijuana-related arrests in this week’s community update.
On March 13, police conducted a traffic stop on Cahaba Road at Montevallo Road. The occupant of the vehicle reportedly lied about his name, and police found marijuana in his possession upon his arrest.
On March 15, an individual was arrested after they were stopped for a traffic violation and police reportedly found marijuana in their car during a probable cause search. The individual was arrested for possession of marijuana.
Also in the community update, police reported identifying the driver of a black Tahoe who was reportedly involved in a hit and run. The incident occurred on March 2, according to police, and the black Tahoe backed out of a parking space and struck the victim’s vehicle and left the scene.
Two identity thefts were also reported in the update. One victim reported unauthorized charges were made on their credit card on March 13. The other victim reported an acquaintance made unauthorized charges on their credit card between Nov. 14 and Feb. 25.
Two victims also reported car break-ins. One incident involved forced entry into the vehicle between March 10 and March 11, and a radar detector and leather notebook were stolen. A laptop was reportedly taken from the other vehicle.
Police also reported a burglary in the 400 block of Dexter Avenue. On March 12, 10 to 12 figurines were reportedly stolen from a residence.
A cell phone was reported stolen between Feb. 10 and Feb. 20. The theft occurred in the 3100 block of Cahaba Village Plaza, according to police, and an arrest has been made in the case.
A second theft was reported on March 13. A bracelet was reportedly stolen from the 300 block of Overbrook Road.
