Birmingham zoo renovations 2
Renovation rendering for Birmingham Zoo's orientation plaza.
The Birmingham Zoo recently received two large gifts totaling $500,000 for the Renew the Zoo Capital Campaign, which is raising funds for a new Asian Passage exhibit, front entrance and park area. One gift of $300,000 was a grant awarded to the zoo by The Daniel Foundation of Alabama and the other was a private family gift of $200,000.
Receiving these two gifts elevates the Zoo’s Capital Campaign total to $16.7 million. This puts the Birmingham Zoo at 93 percent of its $18 million goal, which has been successfully led by F. Dixon Brooke, Jr., and his Campaign Cabinet.
BL Harbert was also recently named owner’s agent for the new Asian Passage exhibit and front entrance area, along with local architects, Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood.
