Mountain Brook Junior High's seventh-grade girls and boys basketball teams were recognized at the Mountain Brook Board of Education Meeting on Feb. 9.
In addition to going undefeated this season, both teams also won their metro tournaments. Girl's coach Jane Mosakowski and boy's coach Bruce Henricks spoke on behalf of their teams and discussed accomplishments achieved by each team this season.
"We have a phenomenal group of girls that athletically worked so hard throughout the year," Mosakowski said. "They wanted to be a team as soon as they stepped out on the floor day one of practice."
The board also:
- Approved financial statements and and audit report.
- Approved the implementation of an online anatomy and physiology text book and an online grammar resource for Mountain Brook High School.
- Approved the addition of a new algebra class at the eighth-grade level.
- Approved personnel recommendations
- Approved an agreement between the board and the City of Mountain Brook to continue a lease agreement on area parks.
The next board meeting is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on March 9 in the Charles Mason Building at 32 Vine Street.
